Iconic Dj MixmasterBrown, born in Surulere Lagos, hails from Cross River & Delta States. A Calabarboy prince and ambassador. Spent some time in Jos, Plateau State. Where he bagged his B.Sc in Political Science.

Dj Mixmaster Brown comes from a variety/mix of cultures.
Got education from Lagos, Kaduna, Agbor, Benin & Jos.
Speaks the following Nigerian Languages – Efik, Ika (Agbor), Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and Ibibio.

A tv producer and owner of Houston’s urban African tv network “Mmb Tv”. Dj Mixmaster Brown is also an event manager/coordinator.

His love for music was discovered while in high school (Aguda Grammar school). Brown was only 16 years old when he started spinning records at neighborhood high schools with his family’s music equipment. His sister was so supportive of his skills and talent that she drove to the store to buy him his very first mixer (Gemini Pmx). Losing his dad in 1988 only made him work hard to be a better person.
By the time he left high school, in 1989, he was emplyed as the pioneer DJ for the Nation’s number one record store (Tower Records and Tapes, Aromire Street, Ikeja. Lagos) owned by two (2) brothers-DJ Mannix and Collins Akpapunam. Both his mentors till date.
While he was the head boy at Tower Records and Tapes, he mastered the secret and art of mixing.
He helped to recruit deejays for most night clubs in the country. It was through these shows that he built a reputation for mixing, which had him spinning with Djs Like Howie T, Grandmaster Greg e.t.c.

He was the first runner up in the most fierce DJ/championship ever put together in Nigeria. The media thought he earned first place but it wasn’t meant to be. Due to his passion, smooth and “hyped calmness” attitude towards the art of deejaying, so many people came up to him requesting to be showed and taught the secret. He made deejaying so much fun in the eyes of all. Still does.
His dedication and contribution to DJing paid off when he was named the anchor deejay for the 50 Cent/G unit Concert and as one of the deejays for the Akon Concert, he was also summoned to duty for the Jarule and Kelvin Lyttle concerts. Dj Mixmasterbrown has practically deejayed at all levels of the field.

In the 90’s, he worked as a marketer, promoter and field representative for COSSE & TOWNCRIERS, organizing roadshows and concerts across the country which led to the discovery of many major artists like Psquare, Sound Sultan, Mr Raw etc
After a successful show of passion, skills in Nigeria for so many years, he decided to go spread the same love in the U.S, where he currently resides.

FLORIDA: Was his first State of residence, where he quickly bagged the award for “Africa’s Best Dj In Central Florida”. His flare and motivation has also inspired a new generation of deejays in Central Florida.

TEXAS: Mixmasterbrown now resides in Houston, Texas. He is currently the toast Houston’s upscale events.

As a passionate team player, he founded Houston International Djs (Hitdjs) together with a group of great djs. A dj group that looks out for its members.

Back in the 90’s to the early 2000’s, he also worked as an field representative for “Benson & Hedges”. Also did marketing and distribution for “Bates Cosse” and “Towncriers”, two prominent agencies in Nigeria.
Mixmasterbrown now C.E.O of an online Radio & Tv station –  ‘Afrijamz‘, Africa’s New #1 for African Music & Entertainment, tries to promote the African culture, heritage through music and comedy. Afrijamz also tries to show the rest of the world how it really is in the Motherland.
Afrijamz now has global recognition. Its where Africans go to if they need updates about African entertainment.

Dj Mixmasterbrown is also an entertainment consultant for Cross River State, he is also the producer of the biggest dj event in the country. The event assembles the best djs of Nigeria and also features international djs from across the globe.

Dj Mixmaster Brown popularly known as Calabarboy, is the event consultant and the OFFICIAL dj for the annual Calabar Festival, which has been named the biggest carnival and street party in Africa.

Now the producer of The “Calabar Industry Night”. An event which celebrates and inspires artists in the region. This is in collaboration with Mayfair Lounge, Calabar.
